Brief History of the Institution
The College of Dr. G. Patrick Lilja Institute of Emergency Medicine, came about as a dream from Lydia Grant Boi, who was inspired by the humanitarian work of Dr. Patrick Lilja, an American Practicing Medical Doctor and Director at the North Memorial Medical Center in Minnesota, USA who visited Liberia sometime in 2011 to help revamp the health system of the Liberia National Fire Service where he offer series of trainings including sponsorship of personnel as well as other financial contributions to the less pledge children at Concern Aid International School.
It was in this light; this institution was named in recognition of our father and a humanitarian who has tirelessly worked to help people in Liberia.
Currently he serves as the Board Chair and sponsor of this great institution. He has also been awarded by the government of Liberia specially, the Ministry of Public Works, for the Fight against Ebola in Liberia.
At the moment, all programs at this institution are sponsored by our Father Dr. Lilja who this Country will always remember.
Our Primary Objective
• To engage in training in-coming Nurses and managers
• To provide Preventive/ Curative services, Community Health services, and Mental Health Services
• Engage in youth education and women empowerment programs
• To provide Primary and Secondary Education as well as Vocational Skills training programs
• Developed Women –Centered Care and respect process through primary care, Partnership, Advocacy and global outreach.
Philosophy
Our college believes that every human are unique, due to different genetic make-up, have personal experiences and physical atmosphere within the ability to adapt to educational and spiritual stress.
As unique human, the college will provide each student with valuable diverse learning opportunities. The college further believes that the quality of education provided for each student directly reflects the quality of future professionals in the country.

This involved the discovery, nurturing and utilization of the individual’s talents. The achievement of these goals cannot be realized in the absence of a disciplined environment for effective learning purposes.
The basic goal of Nursing training and acquiring other professional and technical knowledge have significant part to play within the health structure and the human development in planning, organizing implementing and evaluating of health care strategies of our country.

ASSOCIATE DEGREE INEGREE INSSOCIATE D: Registered Midwifery, Professional Nursing, Pharmacology, Laboratory Science, First-Aid and CPR Management, Home Arts and Computer Science etc.
